RCVRC announces premiere of the RCV Maps project
The Ranked Choice Voting Resource Center (RCVRC) is the nation's leading nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on the implementation of ranked choice voting (RCV). We are excited to announce the launch of RCV Maps (RCV Multi-State Assessment Project).
RCV Maps, a project two years in the making, provides a state-by-state overview of ranked choice voting election implementation readiness. The project includes reports for all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., and is a starting point for understanding what will be needed for any state, county, or city to implement RCV. RCVRC Policy Director Chris Hughes and Education Director Melissa Hall led the project from its inception.
Each state assessment includes a high-level overview of election practices in a given state as well as an analysis of the changes to state election administration infrastructure that may be required to implement ranked choice voting. RCV Maps will be updated every other year, with the first update coming in 2022.
RCVRC will hold a webinar premiere session that is free and open to the public on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2:00 PM EDT. Registration is required at the following link: https://event.webinarjam.com/register/55/6vnw6t0x. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the RCVRC’s YouTube channel at a later date. A link to that recording will be distributed via the organization’s mailing list.
